Certificate of Competency on Completion
This One-Day intensive course will take place in a MedLab Training branch office. In a small group, you will be instructed in how to take blood ensuring that you adhere to strict infection control principles and our local Trust Policies.
After practising the skill on a manikin you will have the opportunity to cannulate a fellow participant, providing that informed consent will be given.
When you finish your course we will provide you with a Certificate of Competency.
We recommend that you are supervised by a suitable and competent person in your work place at least 5 times.
Please Note:
-
You will receive a certificate of COMPETENCE. However, you cannot claim that you are experienced in cannulation after only one successful attempt on a real person.
-
We are unable to organise any voluntary work in our associated hospitals for you to gain further experience. You will have to arrange this yourself
